Heh, if they don't completly screw up the novels it will be a great series. The novels are awesome!

Yup they are based on a series of novels. And despite what people are saying they are NOT ripoff's of Twilight.

These novels were published in 1991.

Did you notice they used the same school from Supernatural's "After School Special"? Or at least the arch looks the same lol

And like in the books I like the evil brother Damon better than the nice one^^

Besides my personal favourites, I think if they did a okay job with the books the series might be able to catch some viewers and they'll stay to watch the other show about brothers coming right after, too. So more viewers for our show \^^/

Damon was my favorite too. He is an awesome bad boy character. I hope they do him justice in the series.

I can live with some of the changes like Bonnie being black, and Elena being a brunette but don't you mess with my Damon! LOL

I didn't know L.J. Smith wrote a new series^^ But when I looked at the old books in amazon I saw the new ones. I'll give them a try because I liked the older series so much^^

Forbidden Game isn't new. It came out in 1994 I believe. :-) My favorite series by her is Forbidden Game followed by Vampire Diaries. :-)

Heh okay. But I think it's more like Twilight sounds like Vampire Diaries. Not that I disliked Twilight it was fine, but I guess I"m just senstive becaue I was a hardcore LJ Smith fan growing up so every time I see someone saying "TWilight rip off" I am like "NO!!!" LOL

I think I have the books at home. My husband read them years and years ago ;o) I hope the show won't be too... teenagers type...

Ya, that's the only thing I'm worried about. I mean it's going to be some teenie bopperish because it's about kids in high school, but as long as they can take in the boys who are like 600 years old they can balance it out. I can even take teenagerish if it's like Buffy. You know still enjoyable and intelligent despite the young atmosphere. I just don't want it to be like Dawson's Creek or something.

Yeah true. I liked Friday night lights, even if it's in high school. It was not childish at all. So yeah they should be able to do something good with those books. I can't wait for september to be there !

well, no when I was a teenager I was not much of a reader. My mother was always harassing me to read, that it had the opposite effect on me : I hated books. Now I changed a lot, I read all the time...

Well if you can, read them! It doesn't matter that they are young adult. I still enjoy them.

Well, it's worth a read for the character Damon anyways. ;-)

He is sexy hawt in the books. But it's definitely a love/obsession/stalker thing in the books.

You really have to like bad guys to like him.

If they put this one scene that was in the books that I loved I can see alot of people being horrified by hiim. LOL

Very nice! I read these books so I am very curious to see how the series works out. Looks okay so far. Though, I honestly would have preferred had they kept Elena as the blonde she's supposed to be.

I'll certainly check it out, but, one of the main reasons I love SUPERNATURAL so much is because it's NOT a superficial show. It's complex and has many layers.

VAMPIRE DIARIES needs to be the same. If it appears to be vapid and silly, I won't keep tuned in, and will find something else to watch before SUPERNATURAL. Our show needs a decent lead-in, too, so I'm concerned about that.

i'm totally watching this. i've been waiting for another good teen drama that's more fantasy (buffy, roswell) and less rich kids (Gossip Girl, 90210).

Wow! The first glimse of the evil brother reminded me of Brian from Queer as Folk. I couldn't remember he was that guy from lost. Looks much better in The Vampire Dairies.
